- Make certain you're in a happy mood. (Your comPAWdre will sense any frustration and follow your lead.)
- Have extra treats handy to entice your comPAWdre to their new PAWwear, and create a positive association.
- Have your comPAWdre lie down and securely fasten each shoe to their paws.
- Grab your leash and walk outside right away. Do not allow your dog to prance about as he adjusts to this new sensation on his paws. Although it may be comical to you - it can be initially confusing to your comPAWdre.
- Gently nudge your comPAWdre to focus on you during your walk (instead of their new PAWwear).
- Be patient and keep walking.
- In no time at all, your comPAWdre will get used to their PAWwear, and walk normally.
- Get ready for the smiles you attract along your walk!
